David Paul Blumenshine is pleased to announce his candidacy for Normal Town Council Trustee.
Blumenshine is an Illinois native and small business owner who works with our special needs population. He has a vested interest in the welfare and sustainability of our community. He served locally in prisons and hospitals and closely with our homeless population. Internationally, he facilitates and participates in medical and educational mission trips. His goal for Normal is to hold the Town Council financially and morally accountable.
“Normal has the ability to be a leader for other communities in the state of Illinois by modeling fiscal responsibility,” says Blumenshine. “Normalites have pleaded with the local government to help grow our community rather than burden the suffering with tyrannical shut downs as well as utilizing liquor commissions to close restaurants and bars. Picking winners and losers such as tax breaks for Portillo’s but not Windy City Weiners is not the will of the people. Many are hurting and deserve to have their voices heard.”
Blumenshine will run on a platform of moving budget items from vanity projects to needs such as roads rather than the trail east project and One Normal Plaza. He believes the voice of the Normal taxpayers and small business people have not been respected or represented.
