On Tuesday afternoon a Public Hearing was held for X-Golf Bloomington an entertainment venue planned for 1407 N. Veteran’s Parkway. The business will allow groups to play virtual golf in a bar type setting.
The Public Hearing was held as part of the Bloomington Liquor Commission’s monthly meeting. The Commission approved the liquor license and will send their request for approval to the city council.
X-Golf Bloomington is requesting an entertainment liquor license. The license is similar to what a bowling alley has. Sixty percent of sales must come from sources other than liquor. X-Golf is asking for a license to sell all types of liquor including Sunday sales.
The venue itself will be similar to a bowling alley. Except instead of lanes, the business will have four bays where groups can gather to play virtual golf. Players will not only be able to play against each other but also against other players anywhere in the world.
X-Golf plans to operate a family friendly business. Besides entertainment the bays can also be used for golf instruction. The owners seek to reach out to a younger teen audience in this manner with an eye toward improving the play of youth and growing the game of golf.
