On April 3, 2025, at approximately 4:00 PM (time subject to change), the dignified transfer of World War II U.S. Army PFC Robert Bryant will take place with a procession along Veteran’s Parkway. A heavy police presence will accompany the escort as PFC Bryant is transported to Calvert & Metzler Funeral Home (1115 E. Washington St., Bloomington, IL).
During this time, southbound Veteran’s Parkway will be temporarily closed from Shepard Road in Normal to Washington Street in Bloomington to ensure a safe and honorable procession. Officers will assist with the escort and manage traffic control. The closure is expected to last approximately 10 to 15 minutes once started.
We kindly ask the public to be aware of this temporary traffic disruption and to plan alternate routes if necessary. A timelier reminder will be published to the Normal PD Facebook page when the procession is nearing Bloomington/Normal.
