Pritzker, Illinois delegation head to Mexico
Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker is heading to Mexico this weekend.
The governor will be joined by officials from several state agencies, including the Illinois Department of Agriculture, as well as officials from the private sector on a trip Pritzker’s office says will “deepen cooperation and economic ties” between the state and Mexico.
The trip is planned for March 30 through April 2.
Illinois GDP trails national average
Illinois’ gross domestic product from the most recent quarterly report stands at 1.8%, more than half a percentage point below the national average of 2.4%.
The U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis released the latest set of data for the last quarter of 2024.
The report also shows personal income for Illinois increased by 4.2%, below the national average of 4.6%.
Treasurer auctions of unclaimed property
A gold coin from the 1880s, a Joe DiMaggio baseball card with a piece of his bat, vintage pocket watches and more are being auctioned off Friday through April 6 by the Illinois Treasurer’s Office.
The unclaimed property auction includes 100 lots featuring multiple items. Interested bidders can log on to the auction through the HiBid auction website.
