Trooper pleads guilty to hit and run
A former Illinois State Trooper Special Agent has pleaded guilty to hit and run charges that occurred last December in St. Clair County.
Julian Feix is accused of running through a red light and crashing into another car driven by a teenager in Shiloh, then leaving the scene of the accident. He was off duty at the time.
Feix agreed to resign from his job, serve two years probation and perform 100 hours of community service. The teen driver’s mother has filed a civil lawsuit.
Forever 21 closing all stores
Forever 21, a women’s and men’s apparel company, has announced it is winding down its U.S. operations as it goes through bankruptcy for the second time in five years.
All locations, including 15 in Illinois, have begun going-out-of-business sales. There are 13 Chicagoland locations, along with stores in Champaign and Fairview Heights.
Aurora 4th best city for new homebuyers
An Illinois city has officially made a list of the top five best cities for first-time homebuyers. The report, released by ConsumerAffairs, analyzed America’s 150 largest cities by 11 different metrics to compile the list.
Aurora, which scored well in categories like appreciation rates and access to parks, came in at number four on the list. Chesapeake, Virginia, came in at number one.
