A fatal vehicle collision on US 136 near 2400 East Road claimed the life of a LeRoy woman on February 12, 2025.
According to McLean County Coroner Dr. Kathleen Yoder, 37-year-old Brooke E. Powell was pronounced dead at the scene after her automobile collided with a pickup truck on icy and slick roadway conditions. A preliminary autopsy indicates Powell died from multiple blunt force injuries sustained in the crash.
The driver of the pickup truck was transported to a local hospital. Their condition has not been released.
The incident remains under investigation by the McLean County Coroner’s Office and the Illinois State Police. Toxicology results for Powell are pending.
