Judge strikes down parts of FOID
A White County Illinois judge has found the state’s Firearms Owner’s ID card unconstitutional when enforced against someone possessing their firearms in their home.
The case Illinois vs. Vivian Brown stems from a 2017 case where police found a rifle in her home and charged her with possessing a firearm without a FOID card.
Brown’s case has bounced around Illinois’ judicial system for years, having been in front of the Illinois Supreme Court in 2020 and 2022.
Possible Blagojevich pardon
Former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, whose corruption sentence was commuted by President Donald Trump during his first term in 2020, could get a full pardon, according to Axios. Blagojevich maintains he did nothing wrong.
Blagojevich is also being considered to be the ambassador to Serbia, according to Politico.
North Illinois under Winter Storm Watch
A large part of Illinois is in line for a winter system the National Weather Service in Chicago says could impact the Midwest/Great Lakes region Wednesday.
Exact snow amounts are uncertain, but the NWS said there is potential for several inches in portions of northern and northwest Illinois.
