To provide stability and reliability to our passengers during expected construction, Connect Transit will implement a long-term detour west of White Oak Road along West College Avenue. Beginning on July 8, Connect Transit vehicles will detour the Lime and Sapphire Routes to avoid this section of College Avenue. We understand the inconvenience this may cause for some of our passengers; however, this detour provides the safest and most reliable option for our passengers and operators.
Effective Monday, July 8, 2024, the following detours will take effect:
The Lime Route leaving West Bloomington Walmart Northbound will take the following detour:
- Right on Bettis Drive
- Left on Market Street
- Left on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive
- Stop: Martin Luther King Jr. Drive & Market Street
- Stop: Martin Luther King Jr. Drive & Chestnut Health Systems
- Stop: Martin Luther King Jr. Drive & Nicor
- Left on White Oak Road
- Right on Hovey Avenue
- Left on Parkside Road
- Continue normal route
The Lime Route leaving Uptown Station Southbound will take the following detour:
- Travel normal route
- Right on Hovey Avenue
- Left on White Oak Road
- Right on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive
- Stop: Martin Luther King Jr. Drive & Afni
- Stop: Martin Luther King Jr. Drive & Chestnut Health Systems
- Right on Market Street
- Right on Wylie Drive
- Left on Valley View Drive
- Left on JC Parkway Drive
- Stop: JC Parkway Drive & Walmart
- Continue normal route
The Northbound Sapphire Route will not be affected.
The Southbound Sapphire Route to the West Bloomington Walmart will take the following detour:
- Depart from Rivian
- Left on Electric Avenue
- Left on Rivian Motorway
- Left on Market Street
- Left on Wylie Drive
- Left on Valley View Drive
- Left on JC Parkway Drive
- Stop at Walmart

The following stops will not be served because of these detours:
- College Avenue & Merle Lane – North
- College Avenue & Merle Lane – South
- College Avenue at Nuair – North
- College Avenue at Vuteq – South
Passengers who ride to/from any of these stops will be able to use our Connect FLEX on-demand service; however, they will need to walk to/from the Connect FLEX zone as shown in the image below.
The stops below will be considered in the Connect FLEX zone during construction and will be served by Connect FLEX on an on-demand basis.
- Wylie Drive & Hovey Avenue – East
- Wylie Drive & Hovey Avenue – West
- Wylie Drive & Crossroads Center – North
- Wylie Drive & Enterprise Drive – South
Passengers at the stops listed above should ride the Lime Route to the West Bloomington Walmart and hail a Connect FLEX vehicle when they arrive at the Walmart stop. Connect FLEX may be hailed using a smartphone app, found at https://connect-transit.com/riders/connect-flex.
The Connect Transit facility on Wylie Drive will not be accessible by fixed route bus during this detour. The facility can still be accessed by using the Connect FLEX service. Passengers can take the fixed route system to the West Bloomington Walmart and order a Connect FLEX trip to the offices.
