STATEMENT FROM SHERIFF MATT LANE:
On 06/24/2024, the McLean County Sheriff’s Office became aware of a possible inappropriate relationship between an inmate at the McLean County Detention Facility and a Correctional Officer.
The matter was immediately investigated. On 06/24/24 Corrections Officer Samantha Beck’s employment with McLean County was terminated.
A warrant was issued for the arrest of Beck, and she was taken into custody on 06/28/25. Beck was held pending her first court appearance. At the court appearance, Beck was charged with one count of Custodial Sexual Misconduct and one count of Official Misconduct.
Beck is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
This is all the information that can be released at this time as this is an ongoing investigation.
