The City of Bloomington Arts & Entertainment department announced Wednesday that to minimize wait times and provide guests with a better overall experience at each event, Grossinger Motors Arena will become a cashless venue beginning May 1, 2024.
All guests attending events after that date will only be able to make purchases with cards or mobile
payment at the venue. Forms of payments accepted at parking facilities as well as merchandise
areas may still vary per event.
“We are looking to create a safer, more streamlined environment for patrons to enjoy entertainment in, and this is a step toward that goal.” Said Anthony Nelson, Director of Arts & Entertainment. “We appreciate the community’s patience as we perfect the fan experience at our venues, and we look forward to seeing you soon!”
This change reflects an adaptation of modern venue industry standards, with many other similar venues going cashless since 2020. With the goal of decreasing average line queues for both entry and concessions over the last year and going forward, this logistical change has been introduced with the fan experience in mind.
