There will be a joint traffic enforcement detail on 04/17/24. With the assistance of the Illinois State Police and the McLean County Sheriff’s Office, you are going to see an increased amount of traffic enforcement.
Law Enforcement Warns You:
- Please follow the rules of the road.
- Wear your seatbelts!
- Don’t drive while distracted.
- Obey the posted speed limits.
- Follow Scott’s Law (MOVE OVER!)
Scott’s Law mandates that when approaching ANY vehicle with flashing warning lights, you must:
• Change lanes if possible
• Reduce your speed, but greatly reduce speed if you are unable to change lanes
• Proceed with increased caution
A violation of Scott’s law is punishable by a fine of $250 – $10,000 for a first violation.
