A 42-year-old Bellflower man died at the scene of a trailer fire on Tuesday.
McLean County Sheriff’s Deputies on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at approximately 5:55 a.m. were dispatched to assist with at a structure fire at 308 S. State St. in Bellflower. Once at the scene deputies were notified by Bellflower Fire Dept that there was a deceased person inside the residence. The McLean County Coroners Office and the Illinois State Fire Marshal’s Office were notified.
McLean County Coroner Dr Kathy Yoder said in a press release that Lucas D. Hensley, age 42, of Bellflower, was pronounced dead at the scene . A preliminary autopsy opinion indicates that Hensley died from carbon monoxide intoxication due to inhalation of smoke and soot due to a trailer home fire.
Other findings indicate there was no altercation, assault, or fatal disease. Toxicology testing is pending.
