Bloomington Police Department officers responded to 300 block of Kenmore, just east of the Southgate Estates Trailer Park, on Saturday at approximately 10:10 p.m., for the report of a possible stabbing.
Officers arrived in the area to find a 19-year-old male on the ground with life threatening injuries. The male was transported by Bloomington Fire Department to a local hospital. The male was pronounced deceased at the hospital by the McLean County Coroner’s Office. The name of the victim is pending release by the McLean County Coroner’s Office.
At approximately 11:47 p.m., deputies from McLean County Sheriff’s Office and officers from Bloomington Police Department responded to a rural address outside Heyworth, Illinois, where a 16-year-old male suspect was taken into custody without incident. The juvenile male was transported to the Bloomington Police Department for questioning and later taken to McLean County Juvenile Detention Center. Charges for the suspect will be released later.
