Eric McGrew is a father and sends his child to Heyworth Schools and in a classroom the teacher, whose name we have decided to conceal until the district gets back to us, has a “class library” where students have access to several books surrounding “boy-on-boy sex” and “girl-on-girl sex.”
One book is “This Book Is Gay” by Juno Dawson and when searched in the district library the search results are: “no results.”
“More parents need to be aware of this perverted material,” said McGrew.
This book reads: “Here is a diagram of a boy. If you are also a boy, you are probably aware which parts feel nice when you touch them, but here’s a rough guide.”
Within the context of the diagram is an arrow pointing to a nipple of a cartoon man and the book reads, “A lot of guys like having their nipples played with– they are mega sensitive.”
Cities has reached out to the Superintendent Lisa Taylor. Taylor said, “I have not heard from any students or staff regarding this book. I will be sure to look into any concerns today.”
The picture below, we are told, was taken in the classroom.
McGrew said his children are in 8th grade and were exposed to several books in the classroom.
“My daughter texted me during her 8th grade reading class. This book, along with several others of the same nature, were in the classroom and provided by her teacher. We are waiting for confirmation on whether this was a library book or provided by the teacher herself. Either way, it is inappropriate and unacceptable. And these books were for the class to use for their reading assignment,” said Nikki McGrew, the wife of Eric.
The school board will meet for their schedule Board of Education Meeting March 15, at 6:00 pm Room 310 District Office.
