New IBA Poll Is Complete Garbage?

The Illinois Broadcaster’s Association released a poll this week that has Democrat JB Pritzker leading Republican Darren Bailey in the governor’s race “by 22 points” and for some inexplicable reason, the IBA decided to only poll registered voters less than a month before election day. Registered Voters. Not likely voters, registered voters. Even on FiveThirtyEight.com’s list of Illinois governor polls, this IBA survey stands out like a sore thumb, the only poll listed of 9 conducted since August that polled registered voters instead of likely voters.Mike Koolidge says the Illinois Broadcasters Association put out this poll and that it is complete propaganda and they cook up numbers to advance the outcome they want.

“You don’t do a poll two weeks before an election of registered voters,” said Koolidge. “You do ‘likely voters’….so I wouldn’t trust this poll at all.”

Mike Koolidge is a former Army officer, syndicated radio host for 14 straight years, former congressional candidate and now spokesman for People Who Play By The Rules, a Political Action Committee making a lot of national news about what’s going on here politically in Illinois

“Outlets reporting this polling should be considered fake news, unless they have a caveat that says this is a poll of registered voters,” said Koolidge. “This is something so frustrating to see as someone who was in the media for 14 years. This poll was just registered voters two and a half weeks before the election. So many of the people polled in this aren’t going to vote. So many Democrats are staying home in this race”

Koolidge said the PAC has talked to many people in the Chicago area who are not voting for JB Pritzker.

“They are enrage by him and they think he isn’t doing anything about crime,” said Koolidge.

Koolidge has a poll that has Bailey with 5 points of Pritzker.

Fabrizio, Lee & Associates recently completed a survey of 800 likely voters in the 2022 Illinois gubernatorial general election, and it is clear that the Pritzker vs. Bailey race is tightening significantly.

– Pritzker previously was leading Bailey by 10 points in August, but Bailey has chopped that lead in half to 5 in September.

– Among “definite” voters, Pritzker is only up by 3 points, which is within margin of error.

– If you have an option of both candidates, Prizker’s lead is 3; if you’ve heard of both, Pritzker is up by only 1.

The poll’s margin of error is +/- 3.46%.

According to FOX 32, the survey done for the Illinois Broadcasters Association looked at the contests for governor, U.S. senator and attorney general.

The survey found Governor JB Pritzker with 49.7% — nearly double Republican challenger Darren Bailey’s 27.7%. About 16% didn’t answer or were undecided, while about 6% supported a Libertarian Party candidate.

“You have a lot of young people who come out of journalism and there is a lack of curiosity. You have to dig a little bit deeper when you see something that is so off. You should pump the brakes and be asking yourself, ‘Shouldn’t this be likely voters not registered voters?’ You have them [journalists] agreeing with the premise like: ‘Wow, this isn’t good news for Bailey!’ This used to be called, by Rush Limbaugh, the ‘Drive-by media’ and they rat-a-tat-tat some quick story and don’t do any deep coverage on it and attack the right and move on…that’s exactly what this is,” said Koolidge.

In New Jersey, New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy has won reelection, defeating Republican Jack Ciattarelli in a closer-than-expected race….the polling there had the republican behind by 15 points and he came within less than 1% point of winning.

“That just shows you how off these polls can be,” said Koolidge.

The final debate between Pritzker and Bailey is tonight, Oct. 18, 2022.
