Just under 10 voters have told Cities they have been blocked by Sharon Chung, a Democrat candidate in the 91st State House district, on social media including a candidate running for McLean County Board. A board in which Chung serves on.
Vicki Shultz, who is running for McLean County board, a board that Chung currently serves on, noticed a post from Sharon Chung about protecting women’s “health care.”
“Sharon had shared that she would protect women’s access to ‘healthcare.’ I agreed that women’s health care should be protected, only we are not talking about women’s ‘healthcare.’ We are talking about abortion in conjunction with planned parenthood, and our tax dollars going to something that she was insisting was a “personal and private” decision with a women and their doctor,” stated Shultz. “My response, if it’s ‘personal and private’ between a women and her doctor then it should be a personal and private expense and under no circumstances should tax dollars be funding planned parenthood. She said that planned parenthood offered so many other services. I said that those services could be obtained at any regular care facility, and that planned parenthood is really no longer needed. Planned Parenthood really specializes in abortions. Then other women took over in the discussion. They said women cannot afford a private doctor, and I replied that I thought Obamacare was suppose to make insurance affordable. And that’s when she started insulting me that my campaign was under water and she blocked my further commenting.”
This writer, as a resident in district commenting on a public Facebook page, had asked the question: ‘If elected…will you as a representative reinstated the Parental Notification Act?’
This writer was blocked from further commenting.
Scott Preston, a Republican candidate, tells Cities “It’s no surprise to see Sharon Chung consistently ignoring the voters of the 91st district. Despite voters in the 91st overwhelmingly rejecting the “Fair Tax” tax hike amendment she continues to push for raising taxes on working families and retirees. Central Illinois families can’t afford to have Sharon Chung as their State Representative.”
On the ballot Nov. 8 is the so-called “Workers Rights” Amendment, which will likely raise property taxes and powers of Public Unions when it comes to collective bargaining.
However, Chung has made contact with families of inmates who have reached out to her…inmates who happen to have white supremacist tattoos.
