About 300 people were at Rader Family Farms July 26 for the kick off for Darren Bailey for Governor bus tour. Bailey called on Illinois conservatives to take back the General Assembly and reverse the policies of JB Pritzker.
“Go to your clerk’s office and get a list of all of the electable positions here in your county, in your community. We’ve got the start challenging and standing up against these radical spending ideas. It’s very simple friends,” said Illinois State Senator Darren Bailey. “There’s 118 state representative districts in the state and 52 of those districts were unchallenged by Republicans.”
Bailey, Cities 92.9‘s Ty Smith and State Representative Blaine Wilhour spoke at Rader Family Farms about the need of bold leadership for the citizens of Illinois.
“I’m going to contend that the reason that many of you heard here tonight, that many of you have listened to our message is because you’re very frustrated. You’ve got family that’s moved out of the state. The burden of living here in Illinois is terrible. And you don’t want to know where that comes from?
It comes from your county courthouse… that comes from the Capitol in Springfield that comes from local, elected representatives that we are not holding accountable,” said Bailey.
The language in a comprehensive energy bill aimed at moving Illinois to a carbon-free future has been changed often.
“The energy legislation, uh, has not passed yet. The Democrats can’t figure out in between all of their special interest groups, how they’re going to do that,” said Wilhour. “But the important thing is when you take it, when you take it manufacturing and you take energy jobs off the table in Southern Illinois, Illinois, but especially downstate areas. There’s no good job opportunities left.”
