In an effort to help Bloomington residents with cleaning up after the weekend storms some changes are being made to bulk pick-up guidelines.
In a press release, the City of Bloomington says the Public Works Department will suspend the $25-per-bucket charge for bulk waste pickup. The suspension will begin Monday, June 28, 2021 and go through the end of a special collection that begins July 6,2021. According to Public Works Director, Kevin Kothe, Solid Waste Program users will be able to place storm cleanup waste behind the curb at no additional charge. Any charges incurred during this time will be refunded.
The special collection effort that begins on the 6th will run for approximately two weeks. Crews will suspend brush pick up during that time frame so the focus can be on the special collection. The suspension of brush pick-up will allow crews to work at a faster rate clearing bulk from resident’s homes.
A map, schedule, and additional information for the special pickup will be released at a later date.
