McLean County Coroner Dr. Kathy Yoder and McLean County Sheriff Jon Sandage are releasing the following information regarding a fatality from an automobile accident that occurred on 3200 East near 600 North Rd just northeast of Leroy, Illinois:
At approximately 0548 hours, June 4, 2020, McLean County Coroner’s Office received notification of a death at the address above. The McLean County Sheriff’s Department, Leroy Police Department, and Leroy Ambulance and Leroy Fire Department were already on scene.
Pronounced deceased at 0635 hours, June 4, 2020, was Ryan A. Ploense, age 36, of Leroy, Illinois. Preliminary autopsy opinion indicates that Mr. Ploense death was head and spinal injuries due to an automobile crash, reportedly sustained as the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle that lost control, left the roadway and crashed with ejection into the filed. Toxicology testing is pending. This incident remains under investigation by the McLean County Coroner’s Office and the McLean County Sheriff’s Department.
